Coronavirus News Update - 10th July 2020

 We would like to inform patients that Iver Heath Health Centre is currently only open on a Monday morning and afternoon, a Wednesday morning and afternoon and NOW also Friday morning and afternoon, but only for pre-booked appointments such as routine baby vaccinations, so please do not attend unless dropping off a prescription through our letter box. Thank you.

Please note that if you have a pre-booked appointment at Iver Heath Health Centre please bring and wear your own mask as we only have a limited supply. You may be asked to wait in your car should you be early for your appointment so please if you have a mobile phone, bring this along with you so that we are able to contact you to bring you into the surgery.

Our Shielding patients will have or will be receiving a telephone call as a follow up to their letter they have received. 

As part of the overall 'social distancing' strategy to protect staff and patients, we are asking the public to telephone the surgery regarding any queries e.g. making appointments. Please DO NOT visit the surgery unless you are posting a repeat prescription request through our letter box.


The Online Appointment booking (Patient Access) has now been suspended at the practice - please call 01753 653008 to arrange a telephone consultation with a GP. 

The admin team will be asking callers of appointments, 3 questions using a pathway to navigate them into:

1.  A telephone call appointment which will be either a video link call if their mobile allows or a telephone call.

2.  If a clinician after triaging a call with a patient wishes to bring them in to the practice will do so.

3.  Whether the patient needs to call 111 for coronavirus assessment

Please do not attend an appointment if:

  • You have a new persistent cough

  • A fever

  • Difficulty in breathing

  • Loss of sense of smell or taste
  • Have had any contact with a family member who has these symptoms

Please telephone the surgery instead for your consultation.

Prescription Requests:

We will process repeat prescriptions over the telephone for patients over 70 years of age. (Updated 8th April 2020)

Prescription Requests - up to date information from NHS England.

  • We will not prescribe greater quantities than the normal pattern.

  • We will not prescribe early.

  • We will not prescribe more than 1 inhaler.  We will not prescribe inhalers for patients who have not requested an inhaler for >12 months. You will require a telephone assessment with our respiratory nurse to enable us to safely prescribe for you.

  • We do not routinely prescribe paracetamol or antibiotics outside of our normal clinical practice.

All request will be processed electronically - please ensure that we have a nominated pharmacy to allow for electronic processing to the pharmacy for your collection. If you have online access, please request through this service.  If you require a login, please contact us by telephone and we will provide details after completing data protection or alternatively, please put your prescription through the practice letter box at either surgery as usual.  We will process all prescriptions via our usual procedure as this is to ensure stockpiling of medicines does not occur.

NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need medical help and advises you what to do. Call 111 if you need to speak to someone.

The practice offers a variety of appointment slots: early a.m. and late p.m. on specific week days pre-bookable, plus bookable on the day and up to 2 weeks ahead pre-bookable for our patient needs.
